Your Congressional members need to hear from you now in opposition to Medicare cuts proposed by CMS for 2026.
Recall that in the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule, CMS is planning several radical changes to how physician rates are calculated. This includes an across-the-board 2.5% “efficiency adjustment” cut and cuts to indirect practice expense values for facility-based services. These changes lead to cuts ranging from 1% to 14% depending on specialty. For AAHKS members, CPT 27447 and 27130 are scheduled to be cut by approximately 7% in 2026, unless CMS is forced to back down.
